Watching a tropical wave over the central Caribbean Sea



There is a tropical wave over the central Caribbean Sea that is producing an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.


Over next week, conditions are favourable for development and the area could become the next named storm of the year, Sara.


This weekend the feature is expected to move the western Caribbean Sea before eventually turning northwestward, by early next week.


The National Hurricane Center gives a formation chance through 48 hours of 40 percent and an 80 percent chance of formation through the next seven days.


The Atlantic Hurricane Season ends on November 30.
