Unsettled weather from Ontario to Nova Scotia
Rain is forecast to redevelop near noon today in the National Capital Region and through the Upper Gatineau to the Mauricie regions, including the Greater Montréal area. Rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are expected into Thursday morning. Similar amounts are expected in the Eastern Townships, Beauce, Québec City, Charlevoix and North Shore regions.
The North Shore and the Lower North Shore will see about 30 to 60 mm of rain from this afternoon until Thursday.
This morning, freezing rain is expected over Charlevoix, Lower St. Lawrence, and inland areas of the Gaspé Peninsula.
The shores of the Lower St. Lawrence and the Gaspé Peninsula will also see strong winds with gusts between 100 and 120 km/h expected.
The same low will track west of New Brunswick tonight and Thursday morning. This system will give periods of heavy rain and strong southerly winds tonight, ending Thursday morning.
Western New Brunswick and the Fundy Coast will see 25 to 40 mm of rain while other areas of the province will pick up 25 mm along with wind gusts from 70 to 80 km/h.
Strong winds are expected across southwestern Nova Scotia and western Cape Breton Island.
