Tsunami advisory issued after earthquake off Japan coast

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck off the southeastern coast of Japan today at 10:31 a.m. local time.

The earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometres and was centred 523.3 km south of Shimoda, Japan.

A tsunami advisory was issued after the earthquake but was lifted a couple of hours later. There were no reports of any damage.
