Tornado hits Barrhaven, Ontario

A tornado has hit Barrhaven, Ontario.


Ottawa Police, the Ottawa Fire Department, and paramedics are in the area accessing the damage and providing assistance.


Firefighters are going door to door in the worst areas checking on residents and shutting down gas and hydro on multiple units.


Approxemently 50 houses are affected in the area of Umbra Place in Barrhaven according to the Ottawa Fire Department.


Ottawa Police remain in Barrhaven, assessing damage and assisting residents. Several officers have been redeployed to as a result.
