Taiwan Bracing for Typhoon Gaemi


Taiwan is bracing for Typhoon Gaemi which is expected to hit the Island today.


Ahead of the storm, almost all flights have been cancelled. The government declared that work will be suspended and classes cancelled.


The storm has winds of 240 km/h. Over a metre of rain is expected across most of the Island today and Thursday. The storm is moving northwest at 19 km/h with a minimum surface pressure of 920 hPa.


The storm has already lashed the Philippines causing widespread flooding.
