Storm in Newfoundland causes damage and power outages
Rain is continuing across most of eastern Newfoundland this morning. Rain will continue throughout the day and Monday as Post-Tropical Storm Earl stalls off the southeastern coast of the Island.
Winds have dropped below warning criteria but will continue to be strong this morning with gusts to 90 km/h possible.
Rainfall forecast:
St. John's 40 to 70 mm
Carbonear 30 to 50 mm
Trepassey 25 to 45 mm
Placentia 15 to 20 mm
The MV Flanders, MV Marine Eagle, MV Terra Nova, and MV Grace Sparkes are not running due to severe weather.
There are several power outages in the St. John's area.
