Snowy start to 2025 across Southern Ontario

2025 will start on a snowy note for parts of southern Ontario.

Today, areas east of Lake Huron, and areas southeast of Lake Superior will likely see lake-effect snow develop this afternoon. Snowfall amounts up to 15 cm are possible by midnight on Thursday along with reduced visibility in areas of blowing snow.

Parts of the Greater Golden Horseshoe, central and eastern Ontario saw snow start last night. Snow will continue today with accumulations of 5 to 10 cm expected, however, amounts of 10 to 15 cm are possible, particularly over central and eastern Ontario.
