Snow squalls expected across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay

Snow squalls are persisting today for areas of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.


The heaviest snow squalls will occur across the Bruce Peninsula and areas southeast of Georgian Bay. In this area snowfall amounts of 40 cm is possible today. winds will gust to 70 km/h causing whiteout conditions.


Areas east of Lake Huron including portions of southwestern Ontario and the Greater Golden Horseshoe will experience lake effect snowfall today into Tuesday. Snowfall totals will range from 5 to 20 cm with the higher amounts expected near Lake Huron. Wind gusts to 70 km/h are expected resulting in blowing snow and reduced visibility.
