Significant storm possible for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland this weekend
An area of low pressure will bring unsettled weather to Atlantic Canada this weekend, one of the busiest travel weekends.
Nova Scotia
On Saturday, snow is expected across most of the province. It is too early to give specific precipitation amounts as small changes in the track of this storm could dramatically alter precipitation amounts but significant snowfall is possible for some or all of Nova Scotia which could make travel difficult on Saturday.
There is also the possibility that snow could change to rain resulting in less snowfall amounts.
Conditions will improve on Sunday night.
Newfoundland
Snow is expected across Newfoundland on Saturday morning. By the afternoon, ice pellets are possible across central and western Newfoundland while the Avalon Peninsula transitions to rain.
Significant snowfall amounts are possible across western and central Newfoundland.
Sunday morning conditions improve except on the west coast of the Island where snow squalls may develop.
