Severe thunderstorms with tornadoes expected in the U.S. Southeast


Tornadoes are possible today along with severe gusts and hail are expected today into tonight across portions of the U.S. Southeast. Some tornadoes could reach at least EF2 strength.


The threat area will shift eastward from parts of north and central Texas early, across east Texas and the lower Mississippi Valley today, then over the Tennessee Valley, parts of Georgia, and the central Gulf Coast tonight.


Cities in the moderate risk area include Jackson, MS, Monroe, LA, Hattiesburg, MS, Alexandria, LA, and Meridian, MS.
