Severe thunderstorms expected across lower Mississippi Valley & Tennessee Valley

Severe thunderstorms are expected to erupt across portions of southeastern Arkansas to northern Mississippi and to southern Tennessee and northern Alabama.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued an enhanced risk of severe weather through tonight.

A cold front north of the region will sink south today and with the mixture of colder air coming from the front and warm air in place over the Gulf States, there is the risk of severe thunderstorms.

These storms have the potential to produce tornadoes, strong winds, and large hail.
