Rain and freezing rain expected across Atlantic Canada this weekend and early next week

A pair of lows will bring unsettled weather to the Maritimes this weekend and to Newfoundland on Monday.
An upper trough will approach the east coast on Friday. Late on Saturday, some rain or wet snow is expected for the Maritimes.
The second low will be much deeper and will reach Newfoundland on Monday. This system has the potential to bring significant rainfall over the eastern portion of Newfoundland and freezing rain further west and north.
It's still a bit too early to discuss precipitation amounts.
