More flooding rain expected for portions of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland

A disturbance will push across the Maritimes today into tomorrow and across Newfoundland on Friday.
The Atlantic coast of mainland Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, and Antigonish and Pictou counties will see heavy rain. Rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm are expected. The rain will end on Friday afternoon. Before the rain starts, precipitation will begin as snow.
The system will also bring rain and snow to most of Newfoundland.
The west coast of Newfoundland will pick up 15 to 25 mm on Friday. Areas over higher terrain could see as much as 40 mm.
The south coast of Newfoundland could see 25 to 60 mm, except near 90 mm over higher terrain overnight until late Friday afternoon.
Due to the rain and mild temperatures, considerable snowmelt will occur leading to the risk of localized flooding, especially in poor drainage areas and significant runoff.
Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity, and Burgeo to Ramea will see snow this evening and into overnight. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are possible. The snow is expected to change to heavy rain overnight.
