Low to bring snow to eastern Newfoundland

An area of low pressure will move southeast of the Avalon Peninsula on Friday morning. The snow will continue into Saturday morning.

Across the Avalon Peninsula and St. John's snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm is possible.

Snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are expected over the Burin, Bonavista peninsulas, Clarenville and vicinity.

Winds will also be strong with gusts between 60 and 80 km/h. The snow and strong winds will result in blowing snow and reduced visibility.

A slight shift in the track has the potential to alter snowfall amounts.
