Hot and humid weather coming to Ontario next week
Beginning on Monday it's going to be hot and humid across southern and eastern Ontario.
Across southern portions of southwestern Ontario, daytime highs will be in the low thirties, with humidex values near forty. Overnight low temperatures are expected to be in the low twenties.
Southwestern and eastern Ontario as well as the Golden Horseshoe and southern portions of central Ontario will see daytime highs in the low thirties, with humidex values in the mid to high thirties, while low temperatures will be near 20°C.
Northern portions of southwestern and central Ontario, as well as portions of eastern and northeastern Ontario, will see daytime highs on Monday in the high twenties to low thirties, with humidex values in the mid-thirties. Overnight lows are expected to be in the high teens to low twenties.
The northeastern and far northeastern regions of Ontario and portions of north of Lake Superior will see daytime highs in the high twenties, with humidex values in the low to mid-thirties. Overnight lows are expected to be in the mid-teens and could be just below heat alert criteria.
This will not be a one-day event, the hot weather is expected to linger through next week for most areas.
Temperatures this high can result in heat-related illness, including possible heat stroke.
