Heavy rain continues in Ontario, moving in Quebec tonight


Heavy rain will continue on Sunday across northeastern, central and eastern Ontario as well as parts of northeastern and southern Ontario.


Rain will end in regions further west ending earlier in the day. Additional 30 to 50 mm of rain is possible on Sunday with total amounts of 40 to 80 mm possible for the duration of the event.


Across parts of northeastern and southern Ontario, lesser amounts are expected with an additional 15 to 30 mm expected on Sunday with total amounts of 30 to 50 mm and locally higher amounts possible for the duration of the event.


Southern and Central Quebec is also seeing rain. Rain will start overnight and continue into Sunday evening. Rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 millimetres is expected.


This rain has the potential to cause flooding in low-lying areas or valleys and localized ponding of water.
