Friday will be stormy across the Avalon Peninsula

St. John's and the Avalon Peninsula will see snow on Friday afternoon and evening.

Snowfall amounts will vary across the Avalon:

• St. John's: 10-15 cm (20 cm possible)

• Carbonear: 5-10 cm

• Argentia: 5-10 cm

• Trepassey: 15-20 cm

Winds will gust between 70 and 100 km/h across the Avalon. Strong winds will likely create blowing and drifting snow, making travel difficult, especially for the evening commute.

The storm is expected to ease overnight into Saturday.
