Earthquake recorded off the coast of Japan

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has occurred off the southern coast of Japan. It was centered 151.1 kilometres south-southeast of Koshima, Japan.

The earthquake occurred at 9:16 p.m. local time and was at a depth of 10 kilometres.

There was no damage reported and the Japan Meteorological Agency said no tsunami warnings or advisories are in effect.
