Details on the solar eclipse and other astronomy highlights for April



On April 8, there will be a rare total solar eclipse. The eclipse will enter Canada in Southern Ontario, and continue through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton. The eclipse will exit continental North America on the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada, at 5:16 p.m. NDT.


Other events this month include being able to see Jupiter early this month as the evening star, sinks below the horizon.


On April 6, the Moon will meet with Saturn and Mars in the eastern sky in the early morning to form a triangle.


On April 7, Venus will be visible near the Moon on the eastern horizon.
