COP28 underway in Dubai

COP28 is underway in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The conference got underway yesterday and continues until December 12.

The UN Climate Change Conference will work to focus on hammering out the details of the loss and damage finance facility to help vulnerable communities deal with immediate climate impacts.

There will also be discussions on a global goal on finance that would help fund developing countries’ efforts in addressing climate change; accelerating both an energy and a just transition, and closing the massive emissions gap.

In addition, the first-ever global stocktake will conclude at COP 28.

King Charles III, who is taking part in the conference, urged urgent environmental action.
