36 dead from tornado outbreak in the U.S.

A storm system moved across the eastern and central U.S. over the weekend, bringing tornadoes, strong winds, hail, and killing three dozen people.


On Saturday there were 41 reports of tornadoes, 156 reports of strong winds, and 27 reports of hail. Of those two tornadoes, two were at least an EF-4 in strength.


So far 36 deaths have been reported in Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama. At the same time, several people were killed in a dust storm in Texas and Kansas.


Wildfires caused extensive damage in Texas and Oklahoma.


There are hundreds of homes and businesses in ruin.
