Hurricane Dorian has killed at least 20 people in the Bahamas.

There are billions of dollars worth of damage from the storm.

Rescue crews and aid groups are trying to reach those who have been cut off from the outside world. They are also looking for missing people.

The amount of destruction is making it difficult to reach survivors.

Roads are impassable and airports are underwater.

Communication is also cut off in many areas.

A warning to take immediate cover was issued on the NHC twitter account, at 11 a.m. EDT on September 1, 2019, as Dorian made landfall in Elbow Cay, Bahamas, at 16:40 UTC as a Category 5 hurricane.
