Police are issuing a warning "You can lose your life and none of that is worth a selfie!"

The warning comes after a woman fell 18 meters off the Foresthill Bridge on Tuesday while attempting to take a selfie
The Sheriff's Office said the woman from Sacramento and a group of friends were walking on the bridge's girders.

The woman had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. She was knocked unconscious, suffered a deep gash to her arm and fractured bones that will require surgery.

The Foresthill Bridge, also referred to as the Auburn-Foresthill Bridge or the Auburn Bridge, is a road bridge crossing over the North Fork American River in Placer County and the Sierra Nevada foothills, in eastern California. It is the highest in California and one of the highest in the United States.
