An area of low pressure will move into Ontario and Quebec on Wednesday night and continue into Friday.

15 to 25 cm of snow is likely across northern and northeastern Ontario, along with strong winds. Snow will commence on Wednesday night.

Precipitation associated with this system will begin as snow over southern Quebec before quickly changing to freezing rain overnight Thursday night or Friday morning.

The same area of low pressure will push into Atlantic Canada this weekend.

Precipitation will begin in the form of snow on Friday night across the three Maritime provinces.

The snow will change to rain or freezing rain across southern New Brunswick, northern New Brunswick may see an extended period of freezing rain. For southern Nova Nova Scotia snow will quickly change to rain.

On Saturday morning all precipitation will change to rain as the system moves toward Newfoundland and Labrador.

Snow moves into Newfoundland and Labrador on Saturday morning. On Saturday afternoon the snow will become mixed with rain over the northern Avalon. On the south coast the snow will change to rain. There is a risk of freezing rain. The remainder of Newfoundland and Labrador will remain as snow.

There will be also be gusty winds.

It remains too early to provide accurate precipitation amounts for Atlantic Canada.
