Winter Driving Tips

Posted by on Thursday, November 10, 2016

Many regions across Canada have already seen snow. With the winter season fast approaching it is a good idea to refresh yourself on some winter driving tips.

Make sure that you use winter tires they provide greater traction under snowy or icy conditions. Also keep a snow brush/scraper in your car, along with emergency items.

Brush off all mirrors, windows, and the top of your vehicle before driving.

Driving too quickly is the main cause of winter collisions. Be sure to drive slowly and carefully on snow and ice covered roads.

Don’t tailgate. Stopping takes much longer on snowy and icy roads.

If you do begin to skid don't panic.go against your natural instincts and turn into the skid and accelerate.

Most of all pay attention.
