Wind and Snow for SW Alberta

Highway 6, Near Pincher Creek

It has been windy overnight in southwestern Alberta and through the Foothills in association with an area of low pressure. Overnight Pincher Creek had a peak wind gust of 104 km/h.

Strong wind will continue today. Strong winds are likely in the Lethbridge area. Gusts are expected to approach 100 km/h. Winds will gradually diminish tonight.

The low has a cold front associated with it, this front will bring of cooler temperatures to the province. 

There will also be some snow in southwestern Alberta this evening. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible over higher terrain.
