Before you grab that bottle of water think again.

A major study in nine countries found that there is widespread contamination of bottled water with microplastics.

Microplastics are small plastic particles.

A staggering 93 percent of the bottles tested were contaminated with plastic.

The leading water brands were found to contain microplastics.

Eleven brands were tested, including Aqua, Aquafina, Dasani, Evian, Nestle Pure Life and San Pellegrino.

It remains unclear how much of an impact this has directly on the health of humans, but research on this issue continues.
