Why We Are Watching the Atlantic

Posted by on Sunday, July 16, 2017

We are watching a trough of low pressure located about 1500 kilometers east-southeast of the Windward Islands.

The system is producing some disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

Conditions are conductive for some development of this system over the next couple of days.

Ensemble models are torn between the system not developing or only reaching tropical storm status.

The next named storm will be Don.

Regardless of development, the system is expected to continue on a westward track.

In about two days condition will be less favorable as upper-level winds are expected to hinder additional development.
