Now that Spring has officially arrived we should soon see flowers begin to bloom, pending the snow ever melts.

The science behind why flowers bloom is quite interesting.

Plants require water, light, warm weather and soil or compost to grow. The wet weather gives them water. Longer days mean they have more daylight and warmth from the Sun which raises the temperature of both air and soil.

Basically flowers bloom so they can attract insects. Insects in turn carries pollen from one flower to another and fertilize the growing fruits and seeds.

In other words, it's plant reproductive process.
