After a largely uneventful August in the Atlantic Basin we are taking a look at what September typically looks like.

First off traditionally, September is the busiest month for tropical cyclone formation in the Atlantic. The climatological peak that tends to be the busiest is September 10.

On average we see four storms develop in September.

By the time we get to October tropical activity tends to decrease.

Right now the National Hurricane Center isn't issuing statements on any areas of concern.

The next storm form will be named Florence.
