An area of low pressure that was centered over Haida Gwaii yesterday is continuing to chug across the Prairies.

Yesterday in Alberta there was showers and a few thunderstorms over western parts of the province.

Over the next few days there is the potential for a wide swath of significant rain.

Some weather models are showing 30 to 50 mm of rainfall from south-central Manitoba through the interlake and into central Saskatchewan.

Heavy rain is also possible today in the Edmonton area. 15-35 mm forecast is possible today.

Over higher terrain we could see some snow.
