Weekend System to Slam Atlantic Canada

A low pressure system approaching Atlantic Canada will push across the region over the course of this weekend.

New Brunswick
Snow begins in western New Brunswick this afternoon. There is a risk of freezing rain and ice pellets in eastern sections before changing to rain.

Prince Edward Island 
Rain begins this evening. There is a risk of freezing rain for the western side of the Island.

Nova Scotia
Rain begins in Halifax this afternoon. Some snow may mix in at times.

Newfoundland
All of Newfoundland will start as snow overnight. Snow will change to rain tomorrow morning. There is a risk of freezing rain or ice pellets during the changeover.

Labrador
Precipitation will only be in the form of snow.

Another system may impact the area on Christmas Day.
