Weather Summary from Quebec Storm

An area of low pressure tracked across Quebec this week bringing a variety of weather to the province.

Around the Gaspé Peninsula and the Lower North Shore a band of freezing rain developed.

Heavy snow has also accumulated over northern sections.

The following is a summary of weather event information received by Environment Canada.
 
Summary of freezing rain 
  • Gaspé: from 09:00 AM on April 17 to 04:00 AM on April 18 
  • Sept-Îles: from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on April 17 
  • Havre-St-Pierre: from 04:00 PM to 08:00 PM on April 17 
  • Blanc-Sablon: from 05:00 AM to 06:00 AM on April 18 

Snowfall amounts 
  • Sept-Îles: 22 cm
  • Rivière Pentecote: 15 cm
  • Manicouagan River: 18 cm
  • Fermont: 33 cm
  • Schefferville: 15 to 20 cm

Wind speeds 
  • Blanc-Sablon: 80 km/h
