Weather Photography Tips

Here are some tips to keep in mind when shooting weather photos...
  • Keep your horizon straight.
  • Use a high-quality protective UV filter and a lens shade in front of the lens. We also recommend bringing along a dry clothing to clean your lens as needed.
  • For snowy scenes try to find a dark background for contrast.
  • It is also a good idea to pack a tripod. Regardless of what type of weather you are filming a tripod will add stabilization to your photos.
  • Add some context to your photos. When posting online post a short story including time, location, and conditions.
  • Know the area you are shooting in.
When seeking out awesome shots please remember to never put yourself in harms way.
