Weather Could Hamper Tall Ships Visit

Posted by on Wednesday, July 26, 2017

The Tall Ships are set to visit Atlantic Canada from July 29 to August 1.

In total there will be 40 ships.

The weather could cause a problem. Rain and sporadic thunderstorms are expected.

The ships have visited six countries and traveled 7,000 nautical miles.

Many cities have festivities planned for the occasion.

On Saturday most of the region could see rain from an area of low pressure that will be spinning off-shore.

There remains some uncertainty with regard to the exact track and as a result precipitation amounts and wind gusts.

The Tall Ships' Races are races for sail training "tall ships". The races are designed to encourage international friendship and training for young people in the art of sailing.
