Weather wasn't the only cause of delays at New York's JFK Airport.

A water pipe broke and caused some flooding at Terminal 4.

The flooding shut down international flights that were arriving.

The Port Authority, who apologized for the incident, said it was weather-related.

There was about 75 mm of water in the terminal.

At the same time there was record cold weather and a winter storm moving through the area.

In total, 143 flights were cancelled.

John F. Kennedy International Airport is the fifth-busiest airport in North America.
