Warm up, Snow, & Gusty Winds for Prairies

Posted by on Thursday, January 21, 2016

A low will sweep across the central prairies Friday into Saturday. As a result day time highs will increase to near zero for on Friday in southern Saskatchewan and Saturday for Manitoba.

The warm temperatures will be accompanied by gusty winds near 60 km/h. The will cause reduced visibility and blowing snow.

Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm is possible for some areas of the central prairies.

South of this snowfall area, there is a risk of freezing rain in a line from Grande Prairie to Battleford through Hudson Bay and the Manitoba Interlake.
