Victims of California Flooding Identified

Parts of California that was ravaged by wildfires are now being hit with flooding and mudslides.

In Montecito, California 17 people have been killed.

Those who lost their lives are:

  • Josephine Gower, 69
  • Jim and Alice Mitchell (89, 78)
  • Rebecca Riskin, 61
  • Peter Fleurat, 73
  • Marilyn Ramos, 27
  • Jonathan Benitez, 10
  • Kailly Benitez, 3
  • Martin Cabrera-Munoz, 48
  • John McManigal, 61
  • David Cantin, 49
  • Mark Montgomery, 54
  • Sawyer Corey, 12
  • Richard Taylor, 67
  • Caroline Montgomery, 22
  • Peerawat Sutthihepn, 6

Authorities say that everyone who lost their lives died from "multiple traumatic injuries due to flash flood with mudslides due to recent wildfire." 

On Thursday evening there were new evacuation orders put in place.
Hundreds remain stranded.
