The normally balmy Vancouver has been contending with far below seasonal temperatures lately and it has caused some tiny creatures to seek shelter inside at the Vancouver Aquarium.

African penguins have been spending their time inside to keep warm. These penguins are not used to cold weather.

When inside the penguins usually interact with guests and staff.

If temperatures are expected to be near freezing then the penguins are taken inside.

The African penguin, considered endangered, is a species of penguin, confined to southern African waters.

The area has been seeing cold weather lately, warmer Pacific air moves in on Monday.
