Utah Wildfire Now Largest in U.S.

A massive wildfire burning in Utah is now the largest active wildfire in the United States.

Known as the Brian Head Fire, the blaze has consumed 13 homes and forced 1,500 people to evacuate.

Republican state Rep. Mike Noel said on Tuesday that the fire is a result of  a lack of logging. However, a U.S. Forest Service researcher said logging likely wouldn't have made a huge difference.

The fire was started on June 17 by someone using a torch tool to burn weeds on private land.

The fire has burned over 199 square kilometers.
