Typhoon Koppu to Bring flooding Rain to Philippines

Posted by on Saturday, October 17, 2015

The slow moving Typhoon Koppu/Lando may bring as much as 1000 mm of rain to parts of the Philippines as it stalls over the country this weekend and into next week.

The storm is packing winds gusting to nearly 200 km/h. That's the equivalent of a Category 3 storm.

Luzon could receive 4 to 6 days of heavy rainfall from Koppu/Lando before what's left of it finally drifts farther north.

Receiving this much rain from a single typhoon is rare, and always extremely dangerous.

Offshore the storm is bring 10 m waves.
