Two Tornadoes in Saskatchewan

Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologists say that there were two tornadoes in Saskatchewan on Sunday.

The first tornado touched down near Fenwood (northwest of Melville) causing building damage just after 4 p.m CST.

The second was reported at 5:30 p.m. near Leech Lake and Rokeby (both south of Yorkton).

In addition there were several funnel cloud spotted near Dubuc, Stockholm, and Rocanville.

38 to 60 mm of rain causing local flooding, with nickel to toonie sized hail as well.

It was an active evening with tornado warnings and watches along with severe thunderstorm watches and warnings.

Severe thunderstorms are expected in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario today.
