Two Dead after reaching Summit of Mount Everest

Two people have died after reaching the summit of Mount Everest.

A Dutch man Eric Arnold and an Australian woman Maria Strydom on the same team died of altitude sickness. Two others are also missing since the deaths.

The pair died on Friday and Saturdaynear the South Col area.

These were reportedly the first deaths on Everest in 2016.

Mount Everest is Earth's highest mountain. It is located in the Mahalangur mountain range in Nepal and Tibet. Its peak is 8,848 metres above sea level.
