Tsunami Watch Cancelled Following Strong Alaska Earthquake

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck 12.9 km north of Anchorage, Alaska.

It was followed by several other smaller earthquakes.

No destructive tsunami has been recorded. Do not re-occupy hazard zones until local emergency officials indicate it is safe to do so. 

No tsunami danger exists for the U.S. west coast, British Columbia and Alaska. 

Widespread damage has been reported and several roads have split or collapsed.
