Trump Signs Water Projects Bill

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Saturday, October 27, 2018

U.S. President Donald Trump signed a bill aiming at eliminating toxins from waterways, mainly in Florida.

The new law will create a reservoir south of Lake Okeechobee that will be designed to filter out toxins that help algae blooms that have killed turtles, fish and other marine life.

The problem has caused several industry problems, especially for tourism.

An algal bloom is a rapid increase or accumulation in the population of algae in freshwater or marine water systems, and is recognized by the discoloration in the water from their pigments.
