Barry Myers, the former president of AccuWeather has been President Donald Trump's nominee for the director at NOAA.

This has made many NWS employees worry about what Myers would do if he got the job.

Trump announced the appointment in October 2017, but the Senate has yet to confirm the appointment.

As of now Dr. Louis W. Uccellini is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Assistant Administrator for Weather Services, and Director of the National Weather Service.

In January of 2019, Myers stepped down from the company and divested himself of any holdings in the AccuWeather.
