Trump Expected to Cut Two National Monuments

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to visit Salt Lake City on Monday.

The President is expected to announce a decision to shrink two national monuments.

Protexted lands, Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante which encompass over 5,600 square miles are expected to be made smaller and less of the land protected.

Bears Ears National Monument is a United States National Monument located in San Juan County in southeastern Utah, established by President Barack Obama by presidential proclamation on December 28, 2016. 

The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is a U.S. National Monument protecting 1,880,461 acres of land in southern Utah.
