Tropical Storm Pabuk made landfall on the Malay Peninsula on Friday.

The storm has claimed the life of a fisherman and another fisherman is missing.

A tourist was also killed in strong surf.

The storm brought heavy rain, storm surge, and winds to southern Thailand.

The Thai Meteorological Department said that winds were recorded at 72 km/h.

Power lines were brought down, blocking roadways.

In total there were 50 to 100 millimeters recorded.

Pabuk was the first Gulf of Thailand tropical cyclone in  January since records began in 1951.
