Tropical Storm Formation Likely

Posted by on Monday, November 21, 2016

A well-defined area of low pressure centered over the extreme southwestern Caribbean Sea has become a little better organized.

Environmental conditions are conducive for development and shower and thunderstorm activity have increased.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center says that there is a 80 percent chance of formation during the next 48 hours and a 90 percent chance of formation during the next 5 days.

So far this year there have been 14 named storms.

Should this storm become a tropical storm it will be named Otto.
