Tropical Storm Darby Could Hit Hawaii

Posted by on Wednesday, July 20, 2016

While the Atlantic Basin lays dormant the Eastern Pacific is very active with tropical cyclones.

There are currently Tropical Storm Darby and Tropical Storm Estelle along with two other systems that are showing signs of organization.

Tropical Storm Darby is located near latitude 20.0 North, longitude 138.9 West.

The storm is showing a progression to the west and may have an impact on Hawaii's Big Island by Friday.

There remains a lot of uncertainty. Some models are only showing minimal rainfall on Friday and Saturday while some others are showing rainfall amounts near 100 millimeters with wind gusts to 60 km/h.
